Powering the Spaces Where Life Happens
For many homeowners, the garage or workshop becomes much more than a place to park a vehicle.
- It’s where projects are built.
- It’s where hobbies come to life.
- It’s where businesses begin.
- It’s where equipment is stored, repairs are made, and memories are created with family and friends.
Whether you’re building a brand-new detached garage, adding power to an existing shop, wiring a metal building, or upgrading an older structure, I’d be honored to help.
At 💡 Light of the 🌎 World Electric âš¡, my goal is to design an electrical system that’s safe, practical, reliable, and built around how you plan to use the space.
More Than Just a Garage or Workshop
Today’s garages, shops, and detached buildings serve many different purposes.
For some families, it’s a place to work on vehicles, woodworking, hobbies, or store equipment. For others, it’s much more.
With today’s economy, many families are choosing to live closer together to help reduce expenses and support one another. I’ve helped customers add safe, reliable electrical service to detached buildings that have been converted into comfortable living spaces for parents, adult children, or other family members.
I’ve also worked with customers who purchase land before they’re ready to build their forever home. Rather than waiting years, they’ll place a small building or cabin on the property to live in while they save and plan for the future. Having dependable electrical service makes those temporary homes far more comfortable and functional.
Whatever your plans may be, I’ll take the time to understand how you intend to use the building so we can design an electrical system that fits your needs today while leaving room for tomorrow.
Every Project Starts With a Conversation
No two garages, shops, or detached buildings are exactly alike.
Before I recommend a panel size, the number of circuits, or even where the first outlet should go, I like to learn how you plan to use the space.
Are you building a workshop? A place to store equipment? A home gym? A woodworking shop? A future apartment for a family member? A temporary home while your house is being built? Maybe it’s simply a garage that needs reliable lighting and a few outlets.
The answers to those questions help determine everything from the size of the electrical service to the placement of outlets, lighting, and future expansion options.
My goal isn’t just to get power to the building. It’s to build an electrical system that makes your life easier every time you walk through the door.
Building for Today… Planning for Tomorrow
One of the biggest mistakes I see is installing electrical service that only meets today’s immediate needs.
A customer may only need a few lights and outlets today, but six months or two years from now, they decide they want an air compressor, a welder, a mini-split air conditioner, a vehicle lift, or additional lighting. By planning ahead during the original installation, we can often make those future upgrades much easier and more affordable.
Whenever possible, I like to leave room for growth. That might mean installing a larger subpanel, leaving extra breaker spaces, or planning conduit routes that make future additions simpler without having to start over.
I believe good electrical work isn’t just about meeting today’s needs—it’s about preparing for tomorrow’s possibilities. Spending a little extra time planning now can save a great deal of time, money, and frustration later.
Whether your detached building stays exactly as it is or eventually grows into something more, I want your electrical system to grow with you.
What Can I Wire in Your Garage, Shop, or Detached Building?
Every project is different because every customer uses their space differently. Whether you need basic electrical service or a fully equipped workshop, I’ll work with you to design an electrical system that fits your needs.
Some of the most common installations include:
- Interior and exterior lighting
- Standard 120-volt receptacles
- Dedicated 120-volt circuits where needed
- Dedicated 240-volt circuits
- Subpanel installations
- Welder receptacles
- Air compressor circuits
- Mini-split air conditioner circuits
- Garage door opener outlets
- Electric vehicle charging circuits
- RV hookups
- Exterior security lighting
- Floodlights and motion lights
- Porch and entry lighting
- Exhaust fans and ventilation
- Ceiling fans
- Future conduit for planned additions
If there’s something unique you have in mind, just ask. Every project starts with a conversation, and I’ll help you determine the safest and most practical way to bring power where you need it.
My goal isn’t to sell you things you don’t need. It’s to make sure your electrical system supports the way you live, work, and enjoy your property.
Safe, Reliable, and Built to Last
Electrical work in a detached building isn’t just about getting the lights to turn on. It’s about building a system you can depend on for years to come.
Whether you’re using the space every day or only on weekends, you deserve an electrical system that’s installed with safety, reliability, and quality workmanship in mind.
I take pride in doing the job right—not cutting corners or rushing through an installation. From properly sizing the wiring and breakers to neatly routing conduit and placing outlets where they’re convenient, I believe the little details make a big difference.
My goal is to leave you with an electrical system that you can use with confidence, knowing it was installed with care and built to serve your needs for years to come.
When I leave your property, I want you to spend your time enjoying your garage, shop, or detached building—not worrying about the electrical system behind the walls.
Fair & Honest Pricing
I believe in keeping pricing straightforward and treating my customers fairly.
My labor rate is $100 per hour, and I charge only for the time I’m actually working. Materials are billed at my cost, and I pass along my contractor discounts whenever possible. If you’re an active-duty service member or military veteran, I’m also honored to pass along my military discount from Lowe’s or Home Depot whenever it’s available.
Before any work begins, I’ll explain the scope of the project, answer your questions, and make sure you understand exactly what to expect. My goal is to provide quality workmanship at a fair price, with no unnecessary upselling and no surprises. I believe that trust is earned through honesty, clear communication, and doing what I say I’ll do.

How I Hope You Feel When I Leave
Empowered.
My hope is that when I finish your project, you don’t simply have electricity in a detached building.
You have possibilities.

- A place to gather with family.
- A place to grow a business.
- A place to chase a dream.
Whether your garage, shop, or detached building serves one purpose today or many purposes in the future, I hope you walk inside knowing it’s ready for whatever comes next.
